Origins of the Gyro Ball

The modern Gyro Ball was invented in Taiwan in the 1990s. Inspired by aerospace gyroscopic principles, it featured an internal rotor that increased resistance as it spun faster, enabling progressive training for hands, wrists, and forearms.

Originally, the ball was started manually with a pull-string to initiate the spin. Today, it has evolved to feature an automatic start mechanism, making it even more convenient for users. It was very popular in Taiwan, and then passed to Europe and the United States, and gradually promoted globally.
